The Outdoor Sports Sustainability and Safety Project aims to promote the practice of outdoor sports such as walking and cycling, combining physical activity with environmental sustainability and safety. The central aim of this project is to evaluate walking and cycling routes in order to promote safe physical activity and encourage the adoption of more sustainable lifestyles in different territories.

By assessing the safety and sustainability of the routes, the project seeks to identify the main risks associated with outdoor sports activities, proposing solutions that promote effective safety and environmental management. By implementing environmental management strategies, the project also aims to encourage the responsible use of natural spaces, contributing to the preservation of ecosystems and the development of more active and healthy communities.

In partnership with local institutions and stakeholders, federations and experts in outdoor sports and safety, the Outdoor Sports Sustainability and Safety Project will emphasise the importance of well-signposted routes, adequate and sustainable infrastructure, and safety measures to ensure a safe and enriching experience for outdoor sports practitioners.
