FRANCISCO JOSÉ BARBAS RODRIGUES
Francisco Rodrigues, graduated in Clinical Analysis and Public Health from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, holds a Master's degree in Virology from the University of Coimbra, a PhD in Public Health (2011) from the University of Salamanca, a PhD in Clinical Microbiology (2016) from the University of Salamanca, and a Post-Doctorate in Biomedicine from the University of Beira Interior. He has been a lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, Dr. Lopes Dias School of Health, since 2003, where he has held teaching and management positions. He served as Vice-President of the Scientific and Technical Council, Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs, President of the Pedagogical Council, and Director of the Organizational Unit.
He is the author of over 60 scientific articles in indexed peer-reviewed journals and more than 60 oral presentations and posters. He has been the academic supervisor of over 80 final course projects and a jury member for more than 50 final course exams. He has also acted as a reviewer for over 50 final course projects and has been part of juries for more than five faculty career competitions and over 30 Specialist Titles (Decree Law 206/2009). He has participated in research teams, leading the project “COVID-19 AAC 02/SAICT/2020)” with an eligible investment of €289,561.86 and a FEDER co-funding of €246,127.61.
His research interests lie in Clinical Microbiology, Public Health, and Cardiovascular Risk Factors.
