JOÃO JÚLIO DE MATOS SERRANO
Professor of Higher Education since 1991. He holds a postdoctoral degree in Child Studies with a specialization in Physical Education and Child Health from the University of Minho (2023). He completed his Ph.D. in Human Kinetics in 2004 at the University of Lisbon – Faculty of Human Kinetics, and his Master’s degree in Educational Sciences in 1996 at the University of Lisbon – Faculty of Human Kinetics. He is a Coordinating Professor with Aggregation at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco – School of Education. Coordinator of the Scientific Area of Sport and Well-being. Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Physical Activity. He is a full member of the Sport Physical Activity and Health Research & Innovation Center (SPRINT). He has published 170 articles in specialized journals, 80 of which appear in journals indexed in Web of Science/JCR and Scopus/SJR, as first author and in co-authorship. He has written 76 book chapters and published/edited 11 books. He has supervised 3 doctoral dissertations and 41 master’s theses. His research focuses primarily on the area of Early Childhood Motor Skills/Motor Development. Professor do Ensino Superior desde 1991. Possui a agregação em Estudos da Criança na Especialidade de Educação Física e Saúde Infantil – Universidade do Minho (2023). Concluiu o(a) Doutoramento em Motricidade Humana em 2004 na Universidade de Lisboa - Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, concluiu o Mestrado em Ciências da Educação em 1996 pelo(a) Universidade de Lisboa - Faculdade de Motricidade Humana. É Professor Coordenador com Agregação no(a) Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco - Escola Superior de Educação. Coordenador da Área Científica de Desporto e Bem-Estar. Coordenador do Mestrado em Atividade Física. É membro integrado da Unidade de Investigação Sport Physical activity and health Research & INnovation cenTer SPRINT. Publicou 170 artigos em revistas especializadas, dos quais 80 em revistas indexadas na Web of Science/JCR e Scopus/SJR, como primeiro autor e em coautoria . Escreveu 76 capítulo(s) de livros e publicou/editou 11 livro(s). Orientou 3 tese(s) de doutoramento e 41 dissertação(ões) de mestrado. Investiga principalmente na área de Motricidade infantil/Desenvolvimento motor.
