RESEARCHERS

Gonçalo Nuno Figueiredo Dias holds the academic title of Aggregate in Sport Sciences, with specialisation in Motor Learning and Control, awarded by the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). He also holds a PhD and MSc in Sport Sciences from the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education of the University of Coimbra (FCDEF-UC), and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), Covilhã. Additionally, he holds the Specialist Title in Sport Sciences from the Coimbra Education School of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (ESE-IPC), where he currently serves as Professor. Integrated Researcher, SPRINT – Sport, Physical Activity and Health Research & Innovation Center / FCT-funded R&D Unit; Research Collaborator, CIPER-UC – Interdisciplinary Centre for Human Performance, University of Coimbra & University of Lisbon. Over the past 18 years, he has developed a sustained and internationally oriented research profile across multiple domains, including Motor Learning and Control, Motor Behaviour, Performance Analysis in Sport, and Sport Sciences. This research trajectory has resulted in the publication of over 150 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, as well as 64 book chapters and 16 books, reflecting a high-impact contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge. In parallel, he has made substantial contributions to the academic and scientific community through teaching and supervision at Master’s and PhD levels, as well as through the organisation of academic and professional events, including international conferences. He has also been actively engaged in editorial and peer-review activities, with experience as Guest Editor for international journals, and has conducted 125 peer reviews for internationally indexed publications, including high-impact journals.
