SPRINT SUMMIT - JUNIOR RESEARCHERS @ THE SANTARÉM POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY

The SPRINT Summit - Junior Researchers is a scientific event aimed at promoting research, scientific collaboration and critical thinking amongst students, researchers and academic institutions within the SPRINT research network.

As a multidisciplinary research centre comprising various hubs and institutions, SPRINT’s mission is to foster innovation, scientific excellence and knowledge sharing in the fields of sports science, nutrition, health and human performance. In this context, the SPRINT Summit serves as a scientific forum designed to bring researchers and students together, strengthen collaborations between different institutions and stimulate the development of new research projects.

The event will feature presentations by five established researchers from SPRINT, enabling students to learn about current lines of research, scientific projects under development and emerging challenges in their respective scientific fields. These sessions aim not only to disseminate scientific knowledge but also to inspire new researchers and foster future Master’s theses, PhD projects and scientific collaborations.

In parallel, the SPRINT Summit will promote the active participation of Master’s and PhD students through the oral presentation of scientific work. This component is particularly significant as an opportunity for training in scientific communication for young researchers, providing a first experience in a conference setting and encouraging the development of academic and professional skills. For further information, please consult the programme.

More broadly, the SPRINT Summit aims to contribute to the strengthening of a dynamic scientific culture, based on curiosity, innovation, scientific discussion and the valuing of scientific evidence. By bringing together researchers at different stages of their academic careers, the event seeks to stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthen links between institutions and promote the sustainable growth of scientific research.
