The Research & Innovation Center in Sport Physical Activity, and Health (SPRINT) is a new R&D Unit in the field of Sports Sciences, registered with the FCT under reference 6185, on January 8, 2024.
SPRINT resulted from a consortium of 8 public institutions, including the Polytechnic Universities of Beja (IPB), Coimbra (IPC), Castelo Branco (IPCB), Guarda (IPG), Santarém (IPSantarém), Setúbal (IPSetúbal), Viana do Castelo (IPVC), and the University of Algarve (UAlg).
SPRINT brings together 83 integrated doctoral researchers, 70 collaborating members, and 24 doctoral students affiliated with two Research Groups:
- Human Behavior & Sports Performance SPRINT4PERFORMANCE
- Physical Activity & Sustainable Communities SPRINT4HEALTH
