Open access policy is widely recognized as a key driver to make research more impactful and accessible across society so anyone can benefit from reading and using research, as indicated by the 3 main policy goals for EU Research and Innovation (2015): "Open Innovation", "Open science" and "Open to the world".

In this context, SPRINT will create an Open Science Cloud for Scientific Data, in compliance with National and European Data Protection Guidelines, along with training and guidance on open access policies and the promotion of active citizenship related to science.

In the field of data privacy, SPRINT researchers will develop all its research activities in compliance with the best national and international practices, such as the General Data Protection Regulation of the EU, and the Portuguese National Commission for Data Privacy (CPND).
