The Master's in Physical Activity and Health, from the Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior School at the Polytechnic University of Santarém, presents itself as an option for those who wish to enhance their professional skills in the area of exercise and health. With a multidisciplinary, innovative, and practice-oriented approach, this course offers a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge related to the effect of physical exercise and physical activity on health and quality of life. Students will have the opportunity to learn from highly qualified and experienced teachers who work and research in various areas related to this field. They will have the opportunity to work with current technological equipment, which assists in the evaluation and monitoring of physical exercise in special populations.

Although without any advantage in professional differentiation, from the legal framework point of view, the Master's course in Physical Activity and Health aims to provide students with the skills, technical abilities, and scientific knowledge to meet the needs of a wide variety of special populations, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with disabilities, athletes, and populations with health problems, namely chronic diseases and injuries. Through the development of these skills, students will be able to create physical exercise programs that meet the individual needs of the populations. In addition, the course also emphasizes the importance of research and technology in promoting physical activity and health, allowing students to integrate exercise and health projects, in which they will have the opportunity to develop research skills, data analysis and interpretation, and learn about the technologies available for the evaluation and monitoring of physical exercise. These skills will enable them to become successful entrepreneurs in areas related to physical activity and health. Finally, the Master's in Physical Activity and Health also prepares students to take on leadership positions in gyms and fitness centers as specialist exercise physiologists, as well as to act as technical directors, in which they will develop the essential skills for success in the fitness industry.

At the European level, there is finally the opportunity for European registration at level 7 of EuropeActive.
